What makes people have one night stands?

Personally, I think they are just wrong because sexual stuff should be shared with someone who you care about (love..)



I've never had one because of this reason, but I just wanted to see how everyone else felt about having one... how come? what's the appeal to having one?

I don't see what one would get out of it other than animal-like gratification and STDs. Sadly, I think most people do it out of desperation or loneliness or to spite someone else.
