Question about dlc bonus? (ps3)?

I recently pre ordered battlefield 3 at gamestop and the bonus for pre ordering is a free dlc map "back to karkand". when do you get the dlc?? When you pick up the game when it launches? A similar game that did this was the new mortal kombat. When you preodered it at game stop. You get a classic skorpion character dlc. Anyone that preordered mortal kombat. When did you get the dlc code?

If it's a developer dlc such as map packs or missions you'll get a card that has the code and if it's a gamestop special like the co-op outfit on portal 2 for example it will be on your receipt they give you when you pick up the gameQuestion about dlc bonus? (ps3)?
Normally the way they do it (EA/Dice) is when you pick up the game, you will receive a code that you redeem on the PS3.
